The ISU-122 was a Soviet assault gun, built by the Chelyabinsk Kirov Plant on the chassis of the IS heavy tank, used during the Second World War mostly in the anti-tank role. Its prototype was completed in December 1943, series production began in April 1944, and it was officially adopted on March 12, 1944.
