K-4, or Kalam-4, is a nuclear-capable intermediate-range submarine-launched ballistic missile developed by India's Defence Research and Development Organisation to arm the Arihant-class submarines, with a maximum range of about 3,500 kilometers offering greater operational flexibility than its predecessor, the shorter-ranged K-15. The missile completed developmental launch trials and reportedly entered serial production after two final consecutive launch trials in January 2020, and was commissioned into the Indian Navy on August 29, 2024.
