M114 armored fighting vehicle

The M114 is a Cold War-era American tracked armored fighting vehicle built by the Cadillac Division of General Motors in the early 1960s for command and reconnaissance roles, serving with the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1979. Amphibious and capable of parachute deployment like the larger M113, it was engineered to be fast and stealthy for reconnaissance missions, but it proved unsuited to conditions in the Vietnam War, where it saw combat, and it later saw use in the Salvadoran Civil War. It was replaced in the reconnaissance role by the M551 Sheridan before the Army retired it in 1979, after which surplus vehicles passed to police departments.
