Makarov PM Pistol

The Makarov is a Soviet-designed, straight-blowback, single-action semi-automatic pistol formally adopted by the Soviet armed forces and police in December 1951. Designed by Nikolay Makarov and chambered for the 9x18mm Makarov cartridge, it was intended to replace the heavier Tokarev TT-33 with a lighter, more reliable sidearm, and more than five million have been produced. It remained the standard Soviet and Warsaw Pact military sidearm through the Cold War and is still used across many former Soviet states and other militaries, though Russia has been phasing it out in favor of the MR-443 Grach since 2003.
