MANSUP (missile family)

Missiles And Guided Munitions

MANSUP is a Brazilian and Emirati family of all-weather, over-the-horizon missiles that grew from an early 2000s design for an anti-ship missile meant to match the performance of the MBDA Exocet Block II. The name stands for Missil Antinavio Nacional de Superficie in Portuguese. The Brazilian Navy funded the project from 2011 through contracts with Mectron and Avibras, with Omnisys on the seeker and Atech on management. The original missile reaches about 70 km and the MANSUP-ER extended version about 200 km on a turbofan, and both carry a 150 kg warhead with inertial and active radar guidance. Prototypes were fired from Brazilian frigates from 2018, and in 2023 the EDGE Group of the United Arab Emirates took a half share of SIATT, formerly Mectron. Surface-to-air, land-attack and air-to-surface variants are in development.
