The Mark 48 is an American heavyweight submarine-launched torpedo designed to sink deep-diving nuclear submarines and high-performance surface ships, in service since 1972 across upgraded variants including ADCAP and CBASS. It arms US Navy attack and ballistic-missile submarines and is also used by the Canadian, Australian, Dutch, Brazilian and Taiwanese navies.
