The Mark 54 is a lightweight American anti-submarine torpedo in US Navy service since 2004, built by combining the homing section of the Mark 50 with the warhead and propulsion of the Mark 46 and improving performance in shallow coastal water. It was developed because the Mark 50 proved too costly for routine submarine threats while the older Mark 46 performed poorly in the littoral waters the Navy expected to operate in.
