The Marlin Model XT-22 is a rimfire bolt-action rifle chambered mainly for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge, and it belongs to the Marlin Model XT series that Marlin Firearms first put into production in 2011. The XT-22 is the standard sporter of the family, with a 22 inch blued barrel, adjustable iron sights, a walnut-finished hardwood Monte Carlo stock and a seven-shot detachable box magazine, while the receiver is grooved, drilled and tapped for a scope. The barrel carries Marlin's Micro-Groove rifling, and the adjustable Pro-Fire trigger is described as similar to the Savage AccuTrigger. Variants include synthetic-stocked XT-22R models, a heavy-barrel varmint version, a youth rifle with a shorter barrel and tubular-magazine models that also take .22 Short and .22 Long, while the XT-22M line is chambered for .22 WMR. The source page records no military service or wartime use for the rifle.
