MGM-166 LOSAT

The MGM-166 LOSAT was a United States anti-tank missile system developed in the 1990s, originally by Vought and later by Lockheed Martin, intended to destroy tanks and other armored targets using a solid steel kinetic energy penetrator rather than an explosive warhead. Designed to be air portable, it was mounted on a Humvee carrying four ready to fire missiles with eight more rounds on a trailer. After testing from 2002 to 2004 the Army cancelled the program, though its kinetic energy concept later informed the smaller Compact Kinetic Energy Missile.
