The Mk44 Bushmaster II is a 30mm chain gun manufactured by Northrop Grumman, in production since 2007. It is a derivative of the 25mm M242 Bushmaster, sharing about 70 percent of the same parts while increasing firepower by as much as 50 percent through the 20 percent increase in caliber, and its barrel is chromium plated for extended life. The weapon can be built to fire either 30x173mm or 40x180mm ammunition.
