Mokopa

Missiles And Guided Munitions

The ZT-6 Mokopa is a South African air-to-ground anti-tank guided missile produced by Denel Dynamics, formerly Kentron. It was designed to be integrated onto the Rooivalk attack helicopters of the South African Air Force. The current version uses semi-active laser guidance, so the target must be illuminated by a laser designator carried either on the launch platform or by someone elsewhere, and alternative guidance packages exist, including a millimetre-wave radar seeker and a two-colour imaging infrared seeker. Every variant offers two launch modes, lock-on before launch and lock-on after launch, and the latter lets the launching aircraft fire without having the target in sight, which cuts its exposure time to enemy fire.
