MRUD

The MRUD is a Yugoslav directional anti-personnel mine, its name a Serbian abbreviation for directed fragmentation mine, manufactured by the Miloje Zakic Military Factory, later renamed Trayal, and issued to Yugoslav forces. It is built along the same lines as the American M18A1 Claymore mine, with a light green casing, two detonator wells, and three simple sight lines on top, and holds 900 grams of TNT-based explosive behind roughly 650 steel balls. Fired, it throws its fragments through a 60-degree arc to a lethal range of 40 to 50 meters, and it can be command-detonated from as far as 30 meters using a manual inductor or another electrical firing source. Like its Claymore-pattern relatives it operates across a wide temperature range, from minus 30 to plus 50 degrees Celsius, and can be set on the ground or mounted in a tree.
