The OTs-27 Berdysh is a Russian semi-automatic pistol developed in the early 1990s by TsKIB SOO and built by the KBP Instrument Design Bureau. Its name is the Russian word for the bardiche. It was put forward as a candidate to replace the Makarov PM, the standard service pistol of the Russian Armed Forces. The infobox dates the design to 1994 and gives 2002 as its service date. It is a blowback-operated pistol with fixed sights, and it was offered in more than one chambering, with 9x18mm Makarov, 9x19mm Parabellum and 7.62x25mm Tokarev all listed. The 9mm versions use a 15-round detachable box magazine and the 7.62mm version an 18-round one. The article names two variants, the OTs-27 and the OTs-27-2, and gives a weight of about 930 grams and a length of 200 millimetres.
