The Pistol Mitraliera model 1963/1965 is a Romanian assault rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm, developed in the late 1950s as a licensed derivative of the Soviet AKM. The original PM md. 63 entered service with the Romanian Army in 1963, followed in 1965 by the PM md. 65 folding stock variant intended for airborne and vehicle crews. Manufactured at the Cugir Arms Factory, it served as Romania's standard infantry rifle until the late 1980s.
