PMA-2 mine

The PMA-2 is a Yugoslav blast antipersonnel landmine, sometimes nicknamed Pasteta for its resemblance to a tin of meat pate, built from dark green plastic with a distinctive six-petaled pressure plunger. It weighs 135 grams, carries a 95 gram TNT charge, uses the UPMAH-2 fuze, measures 68 millimeters in diameter and 61 millimeters high, and detonates under roughly 7 kilograms of pressure; classified as a minimum metal mine, it contains only trace aluminum in its fuze, making it resistant to conventional mine detection, and it typically destroys the foot of whoever triggers it and causes lasting disability. It can be emplaced in more than one orientation to complicate detection and clearance, and has been found in the ground in Albania, Angola, Bosnia, Cambodia, Croatia, Serbia, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
