RPG-28

Small Arms And Sidearms

The RPG-28, also known as the Klyukva (Russian for cranberry), is a Russian handheld disposable anti-tank rocket launcher. The state enterprise Bazalt unveiled it at IDEX Abu Dhabi in 2007 as a modern launcher meant to defeat tanks protected by advanced reactive and composite armor as well as fortified infantry, offered it for export in 2008, and saw it officially adopted by the Russian Government in December 2011. It closely resembles the RPG-27 as a portable single-shot launcher, but it fires a larger-diameter round, a 125 mm tandem shaped charge weighing 8.5 kg with a range of 300 meters, which gives it higher armor penetration. Loaded weight is 13.5 kg. The article gives a stated penetration of more than 1000 mm of rolled homogeneous armor after reactive armor and 3000 mm of brick. Russian soldiers are reportedly using it in the invasion of Ukraine.
