Skorpion vz. 61

The Skorpion vz. 61 is a Czechoslovak machine pistol designed by Miroslav Rybar in the late 1950s and officially adopted in 1961 under the designation Samopal vzor 61. It was manufactured by Ceska zbrojovka in Uhersky Brod from 1963 to 1979, with production resuming in 2009, and roughly 200,000 units have been made across its variants. It was originally chambered in .32 ACP, with later variants in .380 ACP, 9 by 18 millimeter Makarov and 9 by 19 millimeter Parabellum, and fires at about 850 rounds per minute from magazines of 10, 20 or 30 rounds. Its distinctive folding metal stock curves upward in a shape resembling a scorpion's tail, which gave the weapon its name.
