The Spearfish is a heavyweight torpedo used by Royal Navy submarines, deployed from 1992 and designed to catch fast, deep-diving Soviet submarines such as the Alfa class. It reaches speeds of around 80 knots and a maximum range of about 56 kilometers, and can be fired against both submarines and surface ships.
