The Walther PK380 is a compact semi-automatic pistol chambered for the .380 Auto (9x17mm) cartridge, built by the German firm Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen and sold in the United States through its subsidiary Walther Arms. It was made from 2009 to 2022 and was replaced by the PD380 in 2023. Its layout follows the smaller .22 caliber Walther P22, itself derived from the full-size P99: a steel slide, barrel and internal frame under a polymer grip, an external hammer, and an ambidextrous slide-mounted safety and magazine release. Unlike the blowback P22 it uses a locked-breech, tilt-barrel short-recoil action, so the slide does not open until the bullet has left the barrel and pressure has fallen. It holds an eight-round single-stack magazine plus one in the chamber, has no slide release lever, and carries an accessory rail for lights or lasers. It is a civilian concealed-carry and sporting pistol, and the sources read for this entry name no armed force that fielded it.
