The Winchester Model 1887 and its successor the Model 1901 are lever-action shotguns designed by the American gun designer John Browning and manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. The Model 1887 was produced from 1887 to 1899 in 12 gauge and 10 gauge chamberings, and the strengthened Model 1901, built specifically for smokeless powder, followed from 1901 to 1920. Decades after going out of production, the shotgun became widely recognized to modern audiences through its appearance in the films Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Jumanji.
