The Yu-6 is a Chinese heavyweight torpedo that entered service in 2005 as the first Chinese-designed torpedo built from the outset to attack both surface ships and submarines. It uses passive and active acoustic homing, wake homing and wire guidance powered by Otto fuel II, with a range beyond 45 kilometers and an attack speed of 65 knots, and Chinese sources compare its performance to the American Mark 48 Mod 4.
