This group collects the Armored Vehicles subcategory's armored cars and reconnaissance vehicles: wheeled armored cars, armored and amphibious scout cars, and tracked or wheeled reconnaissance vehicles built for speed and observation rather than a main battle tank's firepower and protection. Its 17 members span the type from early wheeled armored cars through modern reconnaissance platforms, kept separate from the sibling Tanks and Infantry Fighting Vehicles groups because a reconnaissance vehicle trades armor and armament for speed and sensor range in a way those two roles do not.
