OT-62 TOPAS

The OT-62 TOPAS is a series of tracked amphibious armored personnel carriers developed jointly by Czechoslovakia and Poland, built using Soviet BTR-50 documentation after development began in 1958 and the first prototype was completed in 1962. It has a flat, boat shaped hull powered by a 300 horsepower PV-6 diesel engine, giving it a road speed of about 58 kilometers per hour and a water speed of about 11 kilometers per hour, and it can carry up to 16 fully equipped infantry soldiers. Czechoslovakia adopted it in 1964 and Poland in 1966, and it went on to see combat in the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War and the Gulf War, with export customers including Egypt, India, Iraq and Morocco.
