The Remington R4 is a firearms platform based on the AR-15/M16/M4/M4A1 family, built by Remington Arms in the United States from 2012 and offered as both a select fire assault rifle and a semi-automatic carbine chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. It uses a gas-operated action with a Stoner pattern rotating bolt and piston carrier, feeds from STANAG magazines, and was produced with barrel lengths ranging from 11.5 to 20 inches until around 2020. Its buyers have included the Philippine Army and Marine Corps, which ordered 63,286 rifles, as well as the Queensland Police Service in Australia and Iraqi Special Operations Forces.
