Mauser Model 1895

The Mauser Model 1895 is a bolt-action, magazine-fed rifle chambered for the 7x57mm Mauser cartridge, manufactured in the German Empire by Ludwig Loewe and Company and later Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken beginning in 1895. It was the first major modification of the earlier Mauser Model 1893 and was exported widely, arming the forces of Chile, South Africa, Mexico, Serbia and many other nations. The rifle remained in service across roughly fifty years of conflict, from the Spanish-American War through the Second World War.
