The 155 mm Gun M1, nicknamed Long Tom, was a heavy field gun developed and fielded by the United States military beginning around 1941. Produced in M1 and M2 variants later redesignated the M59, it saw combat in World War II and the Korean War, served as secondary armament in seacoast defense, and was supplied to allied nations including the United Kingdom and France under Lend-Lease.
