The AA-52, formally the Arme Automatique Transformable Modele 1952, is a French general-purpose machine gun and one of the first French-produced firearms of the post-World War II era, manufactured by the government-owned Manufacture d'armes de Saint-Etienne. It remains in use today as a vehicle-mounted weapon due to large quantities still in service, though it was replaced in the helicopter role by the Belgian FN MAG and has been largely phased out of infantry use in favor of the lighter FN Minimi.
