The AK-104 is a carbine length variant of the AK-103 assault rifle, chambered for the 7.62 by 39 millimeter cartridge and manufactured by the Kalashnikov Concern in Russia. Designed within Mikhail Kalashnikov's design bureau, it feeds from standard AK pattern 7.62 by 39 magazines, carries a side folding polymer stock, and has been produced since the 1990s with a barrel of 314 millimeters, firing at roughly 600 rounds per minute.
