The AMX-10 RC is a French six-wheeled armored reconnaissance and fire support vehicle, with the first production vehicle delivered in 1979. Its designation stands for roues-canon, wheels and gun, reflecting its wheeled chassis armed with a 105mm gun, built with a welded aluminum hull, hydropneumatic suspension and skid steering, and originally designed with amphibious capability using water jets. Despite its tank-like silhouette it is officially a reconnaissance vehicle rather than a main battle tank, and it has deployed with French forces in the Gulf War, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Mali and the Russo-Ukrainian War. More than 240 remained in French Army service as of 2021, gradually being replaced by the EBRC Jaguar, and the vehicle has also been exported to Morocco, Qatar, Cameroon and Ukraine.
