The Carl Gustaf is a Swedish shoulder-fired recoilless rifle designed by Hugo Abramson and Harald Jentzen, with development beginning in 1946 under the Royal Swedish Army Materiel Administration and entry into Swedish service in 1948 as the 8,4 cm granatgevar m/48. Manufactured at Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori, the weapon has since been adopted by many armed forces and remains in active production more than 75 years after its introduction.
