The FN Model 1903 is a semi-automatic pistol designed by John Browning and manufactured by the Belgian arms maker Fabrique Nationale, firing the 9x20mmSR Browning Long cartridge. Introduced in 1903 and originally marketed as the Browning War Model or Browning Large Model, it became popular with military and police forces for its reliability, accuracy, light weight and quick reloading. Belgian production ran from 1903 to 1914, and a Swedish licensed version was built by Husqvarna Vapenfabrik from 1917 to 1942.
