The Heckler & Koch PSG1, short for Prazisionsschutzengewehr, German for precision marksman rifle, is a semi-automatic sniper rifle and designated marksman rifle designed and produced by the German company Heckler & Koch. It was designed in 1968 and entered production in 1972, remaining in production until 2014 and in service since its introduction, built for police and military marksmen requiring high first-shot accuracy at extended range.
