Humber armoured car

The Humber armoured car was one of the most widely produced British armoured cars of the Second World War, built by the Rootes Group, manufactured by Karrier at Commer's Luton works but sold under the Humber name to avoid confusion with the tracked Universal Carrier. Roughly 5,400 were built, supplementing the Humber Light Reconnaissance Car; the type served with units such as the 11th Hussars in the North African campaign from late 1941, saw further use in the European theatre, and remained in service after the war with Egypt, Burma, Ceylon, Cyprus, Denmark, India, Mexico and the Netherlands.
