The Type 30 bayonet is a single-edged sword bayonet designed in 1897 for the Imperial Japanese Army to be used with the Arisaka Type 30 rifle, and it was later adapted for the Type 38 and Type 99 rifles and other Japanese small arms including light machine guns and the Type 100 submachine gun. It measures 514 millimeters overall with a 400 millimeter blade, and roughly 8,400,000 units were produced between 1897 and 1945. Beyond Japan it was also adopted by Austria-Hungary, the Republic of China, Estonia, Finland, Indonesia, Korea, North Vietnam, Russia, and the United Kingdom, and it saw service across conflicts from the Russo-Japanese War through the Vietnam War.
