M1879 Reichsrevolver

The M1879 Reichsrevolver, formally the Reichs-Commissions-Revolver Modell 1879 and, in its later variant, Modell 1883, was the service revolver of the German Army from 1879 until 1908, when it was replaced by the Luger pistol. It was manufactured by several makers including V.C. Schilling and Cie, Spangenberg and Sauer, C.G. Haenel, Mauser, and the Konigliche Gewehrfabrik Erfurt, and although its design was already dated by the standards of the day, its robustness kept it in use through the First World War and, with German customs security, until 1945.
