The RK 62, Finnish for Rynnakkokivaari 62 or Assault Rifle 62, officially the 7.62 RK 62 and sold commercially as the M62, is an assault rifle manufactured by Valmet and Sako that has served as the standard infantry weapon of the Finnish Defence Forces since its introduction in 1965. It is chambered primarily for the 7.62x39mm cartridge, with variants offered in other calibers including 5.56x45mm NATO and 7.62x51mm NATO, and remains in Finnish service today, though replacement with NATO standard caliber weapons is planned.
