RPG-7

The RPG-7 is a portable, reusable, unguided, shoulder-launched anti-tank rocket launcher designed in the Soviet Union and manufactured today by the Russian company Bazalt, first delivered to the Soviet Army in 1961. Roughly forty countries have fielded the weapon, and it is widely regarded as the most widely used anti-armor weapon in the world, with more than nine million units produced across licensed and unlicensed manufacturing worldwide. Its enduring popularity, with both state militaries and irregular and insurgent forces, rests on its ruggedness, mechanical simplicity, low cost and continued effectiveness against lightly armored vehicles, fortified positions and, on occasion, low-flying aircraft. Decades after its introduction, the RPG-7 remains in active production and combat use, having appeared in nearly every major armed conflict since the Vietnam War.
