The Charleville musket was a .69 caliber standard French infantry musket used from the 18th into the 19th century. It entered French service in 1717 and remained in production until around 1840, seeing use in conflicts including the American Revolutionary War, where it armed both French and American forces, and numerous other wars beyond France's own military.
