Type 38 rifle

The Type 38 rifle is a bolt action service rifle designed by Major Kijiro Nambu and adopted by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1905, chambered in the 6.5 by 50 millimeter Arisaka cartridge. Roughly three million rifles and more than half a million carbine variants were produced, and the weapon armed Japanese forces from 1906 until the end of the Second World War in 1945, also seeing use well beyond Japan in the Mexican Revolution, the Mexican Border War, the First World War, the Russian Civil War, the Spanish Civil War, the Second Sino-Japanese War, the Chinese Civil War, the Indonesian National Revolution, the Malayan Emergency, the Korean War, the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War.
